New Maybank2u website

Hi guys, did you see Maybank's new website?

Maybank2u.com

Apparently they put in a lot of usability study before building the site:

The new M2U: Impressions - Earnestly Speaking

i agree also, a lil bit slow to load compare to the previous one. but still bearable to it. The load time isn't that bad actually. Just, slower than previous one.

i dont think the new design .
it's also web 2.0 and ajax powered what? Ok ape?

It's about their server. How strong their server are.
Since m2u was premier online banking and i believe they are the biggest and most used one by customers.

They must make sure their server are super duper performance.

Actually... i dont mind if they charge me RM5 per year.. but make sure there's no problem at all.. and i can trace all my debit/credit with details in history.

RM5 x 1million user = 5 million.. ok what.

Yes.. they propose earlier.. but couple bunch of selfish people make online petition against it.

But honestly.. i will consider it's good thing if they charge it IF to make it better. Plus extra thing.

Let say: Free one ; they only have minimal access. (send - received - 1 month history record)

Paid fees (or Online Premium m2u ) get options such :

- 1 or 2 year tracking/record history (now 3 month history only )
- Detail Debit and Credit to/from account. Ie : Transfer from/date/acc/time/etc (just debit and credit no detail for now)
- Etc Etc.

Even RM10/year fees is okay as long as i can get detail one. but not RM30 - 50 above ler.. hehe that's too much.

If it's so good, why are the now reverting to the old design when you log in? I'm quite happy with the old system, fast and efficient.

there's nothing 'always perfect'. They already had testing but as usual.. there might be something just not right.

Not only them.. but our website too!.

when i was using the new online bank interfaces, i couldn't view the transaction history. it's good they're changing it back to old interfaces and hope they can fix the new one.

did any other banks in the world charge for online banking?

You mean international bank?
Maybank just new to be international bank. It's more as local bank.
We don't really know about others country local bank too...
many of local bank not go online yet .

As international bank... My citibank not charge on my online banking, but it did charge much on other thing. (sometime it too much too).

Paypal (not bank) but they did charge too. Well.. the bank not charge online, but they did charge fees when you withdrawal cash. And i think it's not sin to charge it at all!. As long as it better.

What I wrote earlier... It should AS AN OPTION. Just like premium member, normal members etc. Similiar to personal account, business account.. and go on. So you wan't free.. It's already free.. but if you want more.. just pay small yearly fee.. Ok what?

Well.. a well known malaysia attiude.. they just want everything free.. If can, they also want a BMW M5 with only RM10K. :P
