Is it that cool? According to Jakob Nielsen, Flash is 99% bad.

I'm prefer 50% flash, 50% html. Because not all people appreciate the art of flash. Best quote " ahh... ape lambat sangat nak masuk site ni... pangkah buang ah!"

Flash is good for multimedia presentation. If your site is Information-based, it's not cool to use Flash, unless you need too.

I agree that Flash is an interactive way to present an information. However, it should not overly be used for presentational purposes.

The best standardized way now is using SVG to replace Flash.

Flash can also be made degradable to older browsers/clients as stated in XHTML 2.0, with the usage of object tags.

Flash should be used for a purpose... 95% of flash sites do nothing but waste the user's bandwidth and processing power. Flash is abused by the majority of its users. Everyone thinks its cool and tries to use it without really thinking about it. If you really need to make use of Flash, then the very least you can do is to actually make it useful! Use it for presentation, online games and if you are an art site with some really cool effects. Otherwise don't bother. Some ppl use it just for displaying a menu. That's totally unnecessary and absolutely irritating. No good! hehe

Overall, Flash should not be use for presentational purposes, but more informational. Some ppl here even use Flash as signature..

Hmmmm.... what I meant by presentations were a way to present some useful information to web surfers in a way that is not practical to be done using other tools (i.e. animating collisions in an Ethernet network).

actually benda" yang dikondem dalam website tu tapi diorang xbleh salahkan teknologi sebab benda tu semua boleh diselesaikan oleh webmaster tu sendiri... Flash sebenarnya memberikan kuasa web designing yang perfek kepada webmaster

sebenarnya aku still xpuas ati ade org kondem flash... sebab flash je la antara perisian dekat dunia nie yang boleh dikatakan multiporpuse (cam kereta la plak) untuk dunia internet... mana lagi nak cari perisian yang boleh buat animasi dengan aplikasi bahasa pengaturcaraan dalam satu masa yang masa...

memang ler kekadang flash lebih khusus untuk buat animasi oleh webmaster sekarang nie... sebab tu ler webmaster kena ubah perspektif umum supaya diorg buat guna flash tapi dilengkapi dengan aplikasi yang gilababeng walaupun animasi sempoi je... xyah le nak komplen-komplen....

perisian lain pon bukan best atau perpek sangat pon... buat guna animasi lain cam gif dengan jpg pon still lembab jugak cuma dia load satu-satu lain dengan flash dia lad semua dulu baru play... xde bezanya tapi tah le pengguna nie, website penuh dengan jpg boleh tahan tunggu tapi flash hmmm... tak paham aku
