http://cidb.gov.my
This is a CMS website I've worked on a couple of months last year.
95% of the source code is written by me. Lots of features are PostNuke-like. Can't show you guys the back-end but you more or less know if you have used PostNuke or PHPNuke. However its not Post/PHPNuke. All written from ground up except for using Smarty 1.5 templating engine and PHPLib for database abstraction. Tell me what you think about the website... |

the URL should be: http://www.cidb.gov.my/
It looks crowd if view in 800x600. personally, I will avoid website with frames. You do it alone? Oh.. you are great, man! ![]() |
|
|||
The programming and scripts I did it alone.
The graphic layout is another person. He came up with the graphics and I just cut it up and integrated into smarty. You are right. I HATE frames too. But I had no choice in it. It was a requirement. It was a really my biggest project as it took up more than 4 months (fulltime) of my time. Lots of sleepless nights. It was a serious project. Now at least I can do something more "fun" like my personal e-learning project: http://www.maribelajar.com |

Yes. I want to. But not for this prototype. It had to be up fast because I was getting request from Penang and Johor students taking Java tests next month. So MariBelajar.com right now is created as ad-hoc basis only. Lots of "rojak" programming went into it just to make it work.
After the April exams are over I plan to study the SCORM standard and make the whole engine SCORM-compliant. This will be very ambitious because it involves writing from scratch as my rojak code has to be thrown away ![]() Still that has been my dream project since 1997. Don't know when I can finish it ![]() |

I guess my previous post kinda offensive haha
sorry about that... let me explain more. I just fed up with the whole scorm thing. I think those people that come up with the draft doesn;t know the limitation and capabilities of Internet technologies. There are some holes on the elearning thing which scorm tries to fill but the technology is not quite there yet. You can make it scorm compliant but it can't be fully compliant. If your client/boss ok with that.... that good, if not.. dont let them know about the whole scorm requirement just my 2 cent.I guess i threw it more off topic. sorry! ![]()

I have also been a web developer for a e-learning based company for 2 years. They even won the MDC Apmitta awards. However now they have closed down.
CIDB website is the first website I worked on after that. Biggest headache I ever had as I was the only programmer working on it. At least now working on my very own website (Maribelajar.com) is fun and without any pressure. |
