comment plz (css & css2 based site)

Hi Guys and Gals,

I just setup a FREE Url Redirection site which is based entirely on CSS and CSS2. Viewing it from IE6 looks perfect, but someone told me it looks a total screw up when viewing with IE5. Anyone can tell me how does it look with IE5 or other browser?

Please visit www.atmy.info

Any comment and suggestion on how to improve the site is welcome.. i'm quite new to css thingy though

Thanks for the feedback lcf...

Yea someone told me too that IE5 doesnt support all CSS2 tag/element, but if only you can see my .css file, it's mostly CSS...
I dont know much about the differences, simply because i didn't study in depth about each CSS and CSS2 properties.

I might as well try out firefox browser to view my site, but did firefox support CSS? if yes it shouldn't be any problem viewing it correctly... maybe firefox didnt support CSS2.

But after confirming everything, i might change all CSS2 to CSS.. just to make sure every browser, or atleast most of the browser can view it correctly..

More input would be great.... anyone with netscape or any other browser?

Hi lcf,

I just downloaded Firefox 1.0PR. and after viewing my site with it... i made some changes to my css, now it looks perfectly great with Firefox..

Just by editing the css took me like more than 2 hours (ouchhh) ... can't believe i'm that slow... hehe but atleast i managed to get it work under Firefox

I might need your new feedback on that site again on how to improve, i'm sure you guys can give me valuable input.
Anyone else with other browser type? Maybe Safari or Opera? I need more input guys.. thanks

Regards,
Alex

Oh great, Congratulations for your launch!

The design still looks more or less the same like www.thesubdomain.com

One thing I noticed is the Search "www". It looks confusing as if I'm searching for a domain name instead of subdomain. May you can put in a dummy drop box after the input?

Good luck!

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback Albert! Yea you are right about the searching box.. i just changed and added a dummy drop down box so it looks neat and easier for new users

I also change abit of the register.php and show which domain is available to register by displaying the check result in http://yourname.atmy.info instead of www.yourname.atmy.info.

As for the login.php and whois.php, i hope i am able to add domain drop down list so users don't have to type in the domain.info each time they wanted to login or do a whois. They can just punch in their name and select which particular domain.info from the list

More input from you guys will be much appreciated... and thanks to all who responded..

yes, it looks good in Firefox now.

Although both Mozilla and IE support CSS but sometimes they read CSS differently. That cause big headache for web designer.

Personally, I am not even a CSS beginner yet. It is in my ToLearn list.

Personally, the red(?) text doesn't look good to me. I still prefer black or dark grey text.

A nice site you have here, hehehe

I see your homepage is climbing fast in http://Primary.Name
Keep up the good work and all the best to you.

Hmm... but you are my competitor too. Hehehe...
for http://www.TheSubDomain.com

Try change your homepage color, maybe this is just my taste... don't like full browny sites.

Hi all,

Thank you again for your valuable input, i guess you guys is right about the font color, it does make the whole main site look abit dull and not very standard, and so i changed the font color to dark gray but will left the heading as original color. I think now it looks more pleasant to your eyes now?

Besides, as i said earlier i will add a drop down domain list selection for the login.php page and yes i did it.

I'm sure there are still many rooms for improvement, so more feedback will be just great.. thanks again guys

Regards,
Alex

i kinda dislike the navigation style.. i think you know that css can do more better than that, right! and in my eyes, there's something wrong with the combination of dark blue and the dark purple at the header.. dunno what..

im also still learning this css layout.. currently developing my new blog using MovableType.. can see the progress here.. www.pairacy.com/home still in progress, so, please dont komen.. hehe!

looks fine in firefox, so i believe in mozilla too.

That is the defualt design (content) from the url redirection script, so they all look alike.
