zmusa07 is on a distinguished road
Hi, just my 2-cents.

1. As a user, i don't mind scrolling down the page but not scrolling from left to right too much. Maybe you want to consider cutting the width a bit. I found it way too wide for both IE and firefox.

2. I think overall design concept fits the business

3. Is content part of the feedback, since I spotted some mistakes need to be looked into?

Rgds

the design is ok.
just the flash splash page quit boring.
and i'ved read somewhere... it's such a waste.
since most search engine read INDEX page more than inside page. It's about SEO.

the business site need to be straight to the point..
'masuk saja sudah nampak semua'.

anyway..
if you still wanna use splash page, make it more attractive. The black and grey not catching my attention all the way

Good Luck!

Negatives, straight to the point
With the design[*]The flash is slow and doesn't automatically move to the site[*]The flash repeats information from the next page[*]There are no <h1> tags (main heading)[*]Blue link to developer site clashes with background colour[*]I hate the black-and-white washed out look![*]Faded or embossed pictures are very 1997[*]Photos are too low-quality and low-contrast to see anything clearly[*]Menu headings change size when the mouse moves over them
With the site itself
  1. The language is awful, you will scare away 100% of foreign buyers
  2. There are no prices, price-guides or quotation forms - compare with the competition and you'll see what I mean
  3. No way to use the site without javascript enabled
  4. Unusable by someone blind using a screenreader
  5. Copyright needs to be updated to this year (!)

Positives[*]Design is better that government sites in Malaysia[*]I understood what the site was about[*]The menus are intuitive[*]Good placement of new products on left[*]Phone number and email address on every page - good

Overall I think the design itself could do with more integration and more of a connected theme of style and colour running throughout. The fact that there are no prices, order forms, quotation forms or even an online contact form is a major problem. Firms don't want to phone Malaysia for the smallest query, they will just go to another place to buy - most businesses overseas bar international calls to save costs, making it hard for them to pick up the phone.

On top of all of this I think that the site needs to provide much more information. I have no idea, having looked at the whole site, about lead times, payment terms, minimum orders, graphic specifications, how much support I will get during ordering, invoice and credit terms, shipping methods, payment processes supported, price stability, privacy policies or even the actual location of the factory itself.

Also:
If I am a large business then I will be very very concerned about the labour conditions of the factory, for example, if staff are well paid, work reasonable hours, children are not employed, overtime is not forced, etc. etc. because I know if I have my products made by a factory with any of those problems the public in my country will boycott my firm and I might go bust.

first of all.. i really appreciated your review and comments. A Big thank for all of you...

I sure can make decision on my own to iron out some of the website shortcoming mentioned by you like
1. flash intro - i can try to make it more interesting even though they pay me very boring price for it.
2. Flash intro - auto redirect to home page.
3. copyright year to 2007.
4. adding in normal text link in footer just in case user disabled javascript
5. blue link to developer website - change color

Since, this is the customer website, i can't change any of the listed below:-
1. Write-up on company and prospect as per highlight by vinceX3. I have advised the customer to get a writer to write a good into and business profile for their website but they insisted on using their existing one.
2. Some of the picture are quite low resolutions. I have requested a sharper one but was told to use what they have given.
3. The website are design with 1024 res in mind and specifically chosen by the customer. I can't change this else i won't get paid...

vinceX3.. you have brought up good concern on the business side of the website. Thank you for that. however, i have done my part advising the customer to put a more appropriate and convincing write-up. I can't cross over the line and tell them how should/do run their business. How i wish they have more contents as this would bring some credentials to my work also.

A BIIIGGGG Thank you for all of you...

iamfreelancer,

Great to see you are taking the feedback on board. About not crossing a line, I have a different opinon to you, and one which customers have always welcomed. The customer is normally not an expert on the internet and doing business through a website, whereas (hopefully) you are. When the customer asks for a website, they have their own ideas, but they also trust you to tell them when things are wrong, and to help them achieve an end result which represents an effective website.

This kind of value added service will differentiate you from your competitors and show your customer not only that you really know what you are doing but that you actually care about the success of the website. Of course, you cannot force the customer to do anything, but in my experience customers normally listen very closely to all suggestions and comments made.

There's another important part to this, in that a successful site will mean more business for you. If a website becomes a profitable hit then you will get lots of design referrals. After all, what makes a great website? How good it looks, or how well it works (in terms of vistors, customers, profits, etc.)?

i couldn't agree more.

there's another side of client, it's you..
you don't have to follow all of their need and feel. You must also make them agree on what's the best you think about.

most of the client didn't know what's good and what's bad as you know. So, your task is to teach them and then.. your job will become more easier and got more ... satisfaction.
